On September 10, HCA launched our first-ever virtual Green Guard Stewardship Training this fall with a continued focus on restoring vacant lots. The virtual series provides online, self-guided learning materials, opportunities to participate in volunteer workdays and virtual live forums for discussion. The classes will take place between Sept. 10 and November 13.

On Saturday, September 11 and September 25, HCA held restoration workdays at the Heartland Overlook Preserve (aka The HOP). Volunteers have cleared over 1,000 square feet of invasive honeysuckle from the area so far. Please take a look at the community calendar for upcoming workdays and join us! The next community workday will be 10/23/21.

On September 9, the Education & Outreach Work Group reviewed the Renew the Blue goals and accomplishments. The Work Group choose photos for The Blue River Story Project to display at HCA’s 8th Annual Partnership Summit.

The next Education & Outreach Work Group meeting will be Thursday, 11/11/21 at 10 am.
