"Blue Valley Park site visit" Photo by Sarah Benal

When I was a little girl we moved to Blue Valley. The street behind my house had a little park, Corrington Park, and the Blue River runs right behind it. There was no trash and the water was clear and you could see fish swimming through it. Some would fish or swim there and have picnics there. You could spend the whole day there or at Blue Valley Park, exploring.

It is important to save the river for our nature, to clear the trash and keep it clean. My mom would tuck little pieces of trash and take them home. We are trying to encourage our youth not to throw trash down there and put it in its proper place. These rivers and parks are a great investment to our community.
