Spring is here! Time to get outside!

By Jill Erickson

Join Heartland Conservation Alliance this April for 30 Days of Biking KC from April 1-30.

There are five ways to participate in HCA's #30 Days of Biking KC because #HumansNeedNature and 100% of every donation will go toward helping us save a 40-acre forest on the banks of the Blue River. When you ride and friends support you for riding, you are helping to save the Heartland Overlook Preserve aka, the HOP. By saving the HOP, we are protecting critical habitat for wildlife, we are making Kansas City more resilient to climate change and we are providing more opportunities for urban dwellers to connect with the health benefits of nature.

  1. Be a Team Captain: Create a team of family, friends, neighbors, co-workers.

  2. Be a Team Member: Know somebody who has a team? Join them for the ride.

  3. Ride Solo: Ride for yourself and explore nature.

  4. Make a Pledge: Don't want to ride but want to support a rider? Make a pledge through your friend's fundraising page or here.

  5. Donate Now: Want to support HCA's work to protect Kansas City's natural resources? Click here.

To get started, please visit the HCA Campaign Page here and "register to ride." When you donate $30 you will receive a "Humans Need Nature" t-shirt and when you donate $150 you receive a "Humans Need Nature" 20.9 oz stainless steel bottle. Register to ride today and stop by the HOP all day (8am-4pm) this Saturday, April 3 to hand out t-shirts and water bottles and let people explore the trail. This event is free and open to anyone who wants to stop by! Come by to 9106 Chestnut Avenue, Kansas City, MO with your team members or bring a friend by to explore the HOP!
