Support Efforts to Renew the Blue, Help Communities Thrive

December 13, 2018

As another year comes to a close, we are overwhelmed with how much work Heartland Conservation Alliance and our members have accomplished in 2018. And we know there is much more yet to be done to conserve and protect natural spaces in our surrounding area.

University of Maryland Brianne Walsh facilitates HCA Conservation Work Group meeting to analyze results of Report Card Stakeholder Workshop.

Our goal in 2019 is to continue to strengthen and foster the relationship between people and their native environment, fostering new and passionate stewards. We pledge to continue our work with neighborhoods, schools, and community members through our Green Guard program, informing youth and adults alike about the many benefits of native habitats through hands-on learning and the restoration of community spaces.

Through programs like Green Guard, AmeriCorps VISTA, and HCA’s Youth Council, we at Heartland Conservation Alliance promise to remain dedicated to expanding the depth and breadth of future urban conservation leaders.

We cannot do this work without the support of our Alliance partners and dedicated stewards like you.

Our mission is to proactively conserve, protect and restore natural lands and open space within the Kansas City region, benefiting the community and future generations by improving water quality, creating recreational opportunities, protecting life and property, and preserving our natural and cultural heritage. We accomplish our goals through collaboration with a network of public and private organizations and agencies that share our goals, values and objectives. We accomplish our goals through public outreach and education. We promote and conserve a vibrant, resilient river corridor, a centerpiece of revitalized neighborhoods that enhances the beauty and desirability
of our city.

To keep our natural places beautiful, to continue to nurture our sense of place, and to keep our youth inspired and engaged, we ask for a tax-free gift from your own treasure. No gift is too humble – all gifts go to support our mission. A $50 gift will be multiplied by the leveraged efforts of our Alliance to make your community a beautiful landscape that supports a quality of life we all deserve.
