Fund Development Manager

Join Heartland Conservation Alliance as a Fund Development Manager and help advance our mission to protect, connect, and restore the Blue River watershed. You’ll work closely with the Executive Director, Board, and staff to lead strategic fundraising efforts, cultivate major gift and individual donor support, secure event sponsorships, assist with grant writing and reporting, and support overall fundraising strategy and budget development. This hybrid, full‑time position offers competitive pay, benefits, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in our growing organization.

AmeriCorps VISTA at Heartland Conservation Alliance

The AmeriCorps VISTA program engages members in building organizational capacity and creating sustainable programs that address community needs. At Heartland Conservation Alliance (HCA), the Stream Teams United VISTA member will strengthen the organization’s capacity to advance watershed conservation, environmental education, and community engagement, particularly in underserved neighborhoods along the Blue River. This role focuses on developing systems, partnerships, and resources that expand program reach, improve effectiveness, and support long-term sustainability. Internship Opportunities

Conservation Land Steward Intern

Join Heartland Conservation Alliance this season to gain hands-on experience restoring and managing urban greenspaces in the Blue River watershed. Interns assist with invasive species removal, trail maintenance, timber stand improvement, ecological monitoring, and volunteer coordination, while learning practical land stewardship and conservation skills. This seasonal internship offers mentorship, professional development, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on Kansas City’s natural spaces. A small stipend may be available.
